Spatial Scale Type of Edge Effect
Classification of spatial scale of edge effect is reviewed in this paper. The spatial scales can be classified into large-scale (biome ecotone), mesoscale (ecological ecotone) and small-scale (community ecotone), and main types at each scale were analyzed. Till now, researches on edge effects mainly focus on mesoscale and small-scale. From our opinion, studies on large-scale should be enhanced in the future.
