Conservative Tillage for Soil Conservation with Stubble in Sandstorm Area along the Great Wall of China
Based on the agriculture-ecological condition and the cultivation habits in the sandstorm area along the Great Wall, one soil conservation technical mode characterized by the stubble-reservation to hold the soil and row-interval no tillage fertilized sowing was promoted in this paper. Tests were been conducted in the sandstorm area of Hengshan County. The results indicated that the promoted mode has remarkable effects in wind prevention and soil conservation, water conservation, soil fertility conservation, cultivation cost reduction and outcome increasing, as well as promoting a healthy development of agriculture and stock rising. It was concluded that conservation tillage, has great effects on prevention of dust storm and improvement of the ecological environment as well as achieving a balanced development of agriculture and stockraisingin the desert area along the Great Wall in North Shaanxi Province in China.
