The On-site Measurement and Evaluation of Pump Efficiency
Based on the national standard GB19762-2005, the conventional measurement means was applied in the on- site pump efficiency measurement, in which the advanced measurement technique and equipments were used. During the measurement, the output power of pump was calculated from an equation requiring measurement of flow and head, which were measured by pressure meter, vacuometer and portable ultrasonic flowmeter, at the same time the electrical input power to the pump was measured by the portable motor efficiency test system, thus the pump efficiency was calculated. At last, an example was given for the on- site measurement. The pump efficiency testing system can be applied to: water and wastewater pumps, cooling pumps, boiler feed pumps, water turbines and irrigation pumps.
