Unsteady Numerical Simulation on Aerodynamic Performance of Special Airfoil for Wind Turbine

Based on N-S control equation, the unsteady flowfield of the NREL S series airfoil S827 is simulated. The lift and drag coefficients and pressure distribution are obtained at the different angle of attack at the time when Re=2×106, and the computing results agree well with the aerodynamic data offered by NREL. Within the Reynolds number from 4×105 to 1×107, the variable regularities of lift and drag coefficients according with Re are also studied at different angle of attack such as 0°, 6° and 10°. It can provide some useful reference information for engineering application.
