Wind Aerator

To increase the dissolubility of oxygen in water and reduce the electrical use, the study is to design a wind aerator powered by wind energy only. The wind aerator is consists of the blades with the rotor, an accelerative gear set, the floating platform and the centrifugal impeller and the air conduit block. For the affiliation of the design, the blades of the wind aerator can be driven by the wind, then the blades drive the centrifugal impeller and the air conduit block through an accelerative gear set. The impellers of the centrifugal pump cause the water flow which will be forced into the water driven pipe. It forms a low pressure region by the area ratio change of the water driven pipe and then creates the inspiration function. Therefore the air will conduct into the water and flow out from the base of the pipe to surroundings. By tiny air bubbles, it can increase the air-water contact area and the contact duration. It is disclosed that the dissolubility of oxygen in water will increase due to these tiny air bubbles. In order to achieve these functions, the study is to design a wind aerator with four rotational blades. The dimension for the set of blades is 0.8m diameter and 0.8m high. The wind aerator is running in the wind velocity of 1.7m/sec. The angular velocity of the centrifugal impeller Moreover, for the study, the blades of the centrifugal impeller are supposed to run with the angular velocity 830 rpm, in a wind of free velocity 11m/sec.It is meaning the feasibility for the wind aerator.
