Impairment in Amplification of Optical Packets Regarding the Gain Transient and Nonlinear Effect Depending on Peak Power of NRZ payload

We classified impairments in amplification of optical packet by using EDFA which are derived from the gain transient and third order nonlinearity. Significant nonlinearity was observed even for NRZ formatted packet with moderate average power.
