Diesel Emission Control System Using Plasma Technology

The authors reported a new kind of aftertreatment of diesel engine using a combination of DPF and nonthermal plasma-assisted catalytic reduction of NO <,x>. In this system, the plasma reactor is located after DPF, when there is need for DPF regeneration, the effluent from reactor, most of them is NO2, are sent back to the upstream of DPF. Experiments are carried out to prove this system, and the initial results are reported.
