Experimental Study of Advanced Control Strategies for a Batch Distillation Pilot Plant
The development and experimental study of four kinds of advanced control strategies including fuzzy logic control, gain scheduling control, hybrid control combining gain scheduling and fuzzy logic control, and state space based model predictive control is carried out for the inferential top products composition control of a methanol/water binary batch distillation pilot plant. Batch distillation control experiments show that these advanced control strategies all give good control results and a comparison of their performance is presented.
