Variance Reduction Opportunities through Parallel Cascade Control

In this work, we study the minimum variances of the primary and secondary variables under simple feedback configuration and parallel cascade configuration. The idea is to understand if significant benefits (in terms of variability reduction) can be achieved by a change in control loop configuration from simple feedback (SFB) to parallel cascade control (PCC).
