Fire Protection of LPG Storage Using the Earth-Covered Tanks

摘要：

This paper presents the safety aspects about a new type of storage tank for pressure liquefied gases－ the earth-covered tank when attacked by fires. Effects of thermal radiation resulting from a BLEVE (Boiling-Liquid, Expanding-Vapor Explosion) and flame engulfment resulting from a pool fire on the earth-covered tank and on the traditional aboveground storage tank were assessed in terms of safety.
