Simulation of Drying Process and Energy Efficiency Study for Liquid Paint on Aluminum Substrate

An optimization scheme relating to drying system variables like the drying method using convective heating and IR heating, which is effective to film making on aluminum substrate, was taken into account by means of simulation technique. Comparing the simulation results with the mini-scale plant operation data using IR drying system a feasible result could be derived. Comparing the quite different two drying patterns approximately 17 % energy reduction for the same heat duty was expected at the treatment in IR drying system than convective drying system in the liquid painting on aluminum substrate.
