THE INFLUENCE OF PRESTRESSING TENDON ON SEISMIC PERFORMANCE OF BRIDGE COLUMNS
The role of prestressing tendons in the bridge column was to improve the cracking load during the operational state in China. To know the seismic performance of such kinds of pier, three small-scale pier specimens were tested under reversed cyclic loading. The existing of prestressing tendons and the type of prestressing tendons are of the prime interest in the program. The three specimens contained a RC pier, a bonded PC pier and an unboned PC pier. From the experiment, the strength, energy dissipation capacity, residual displacements and general hysteretic behavior were obtained.
