SHAKING TABLE TESTING METHODOLOGY ON A SUPER-TALL BUILDING
The methods of shaking table tests on a complex steel-concrete composite super-tall structure are investigated in this paper. The height of the 53- storeyed building is 250m, with structural system of the mega-columns, annular trusses, the reinforced concrete core and the outrigger trusses to resist the lateral loads. The first strengthened story is located between 20~22 story. The second strengthened story between 37~39 story served as transfer story, while the mega-columns transfer to the closed columns. According to the Technical Specifications for Concrete Structures of Tall Building (JGJ3-2002), the height of the building obviously exceeds the stipulated maximum height of 190m for a composite frame/reinforced concrete core building. On the other hand, the vertical components for resisting the lateral loads along the height of the structure are discontinuous with the rigid transfer stories at higher level. A 1/30 scaled model was designed, fabricated and tested in SLDRCE, Tongji University. Some suggestions to improve shaking table testing methodology on super-tall building are put forward.
