Experiments of Preferred Loudness of National Concert Hall

Loudness is an important parameter for the acoustic evaluation of concert hall. In order to predict the preferred loudness of national concert hall, some experiments were performed, in which the dry signal was recorded in an anechoic chamber, and, at the same time, the signal was convolved with the simulated impulse response of the national concert hall by using the auralization technology. The convolved results were then applied to the subjective acoustic evaluation. Moreover, a comparison between the simulated parameter and the measured one was carried out, by which good feasibility and high accuracy of the simulation were revealed. Finally, by adopting the paired-comparison method and the improved method of loudness division, the preferred loudness of national music hall was determined.
