Planning of Sound Environment in Chinese Classic Gardens: a Case Study on Four Jiangnan Gardens

摘要：

This paper presents a series of case studies on the planning of sound environment by means of field measurement and soundscape survey for four Jiangan gardens including Zhuozheng Garden, Liu Garden, Yi Garden and Ou Garden. It shows that Chinese classic gardens effectively integrates the noise reduction into their scenic entity, and endows the natural sounds with an artistic conception.
