Sound Absorption Measurements of Transparent Micro-Perforated Membrane Absorbers
In order to reveal the absorption properties of micro-perforated membrane absorbers and space absorbers, the broad-band absorption coefficients of eight wall absorbers and seven space absorbers with various perforation ratios and air cavities were measured and compared, thus investigating the correlations between the configurations and the sound absorption properties of the absorbers. The results indicate that both the micro-perforated membrane absorbers and the space absorbers have excellent absorption properties, and that the reliable first-band data not only can be immediately applied in practice but also are useful for the comparisons with theoretical calculations.
