Synthetic Assessment of Traffic Noise in Urban Residential Area Based on Noise Impact Index
The synthetic assessment of traffic noise in urban residential area based on noise impact index (NII) is more relevant to the real situation of noise pollution, as compared with the traditional LeqA evaluation system. In this paper, Guangzhou Tianyi residential area is selected as an example to investigate how to use the intermediary role of graphic data obtained by Geographic Information System (GIS) to realize the subregional management of population and noise levels in the calculation of NII, which can further simplify the process of computation, enhance the efficiency and subjectively testify the rationality of the assessment results.
