Approach to the Method of Typology in Sustainable Building Design
In this paper, the sewage-treating building in Guangdong Medical College is chosen as the research sample of typology of sustainable building to analyze the possibility of using tangible architectural language to express the intangible architectural meaning,especially the maintenance of cultural continuity when achieving a contemporary tectonic expression. The equally noteworthy is the prototypical approach toward transforming inherited typologies while still remaining sensitive to the values of local culture. By analyzing the rational methods of design from the viewpoints of architectural symbols, ecological quality, economic performance and contextual response, the author attempts to combine sustainable function building design with Chinese culture after the typological method.
