Composition of Landscape Recognition that Uses Fractal Analysis by Local Inhabitants in Kamakura

This paper studies the landscape recognition of the Kamakura historical area by residents of the area. The urban structure that forms the regional environment is quantitatively analyzed using fractal dimensional analyses of a 3-dimension shaded picture, an aerial photo, and a 3-dimension model. Landscape recognition is correlated to the visible area image and the cognitive area chart. The fractal dimension of the typical landscape of Kamakura is analyzed to determine the residents shared observation of physical or environmental change. Also considered is the residentsacknowledgement of the observation and its relation to the urban structure.
