Building Design for Energy Saving and Acoustical Comfort: the Italian Legislation and Some Possible Solution
Building design is now obliged to face some criteria that seems to jail the fantasy of the architect, compelling him into engineering schemes not always so beautiful to see: for instance, acoustical and thermal comfort within our homes are now indispensable qualities of a new building. Furthermore, energy saving is now compulsory in a world scale, and, everywhere a new building is coming on, it is necessary to think to it at least as a low consuming energy for artificial lighting, heating and air conditioning purposes: windowing is now the more important detail in architectural design and with some care we can even capture energy. In Italy, there are now two legislative apparatus that impose a certain degree of thermal and acoustical insulation. They are exposed in short together with some idea about what it is possible to do to comply with.
