The implementing level of remote monitoring for wellness: a transaction cost perspective
The major market sectors for home health monitoring are those of remote monitoring of chronic disease, remote monitoring of medication selection and compliance, remote monitoring of physical indicators in order to prevent disease and promote wellness, and tracking of patient location and movement. In this study, we would like to take a step further to explore and analyze the possible services of remote health monitoring and the business model associated, in terms of risks, for those ultimate potential users, the healthy people. Transaction cost theory is applied to formulate the research framework to investigate the possibility of implementing the remote monitoring system for wellness.
