The Use of One Component 100％ Solid Liquid Polyurethane Adhesives in Multi-layer Wooden Parquet Manufacturing

The one component (1C) moisture-curing 100％ solid liquid polyurethane (PUR) adhesives is near perfect for wood bonding. It is free of water, solvent and formaldehyde. With the moisture or humidity, it will cure into a strong, tough and inert joint. The glue- line is resistant to heat, water, weak caustics, acids and solvents. Because of its distinct advantages, manufacturer began to use 1C PUR in multi-layer wooden parquet manufacturing. This paper analyses the disadvantages of traditional water-based adhesives technology in comparison with the 1C PUR technology in multi-layer wooden parquet; including the characteristics of the production process, equipment investment, parquet product quality and cost of used. It was concluded that 1C PUR adhesive could optimize the production process and improve product quality and profit. This is to say that lC PUR will undoubtedly become the technology leader in multi-layer wooden parquet adhesives market.
