An Introduction to Bamboo Peeling Veneer Production Technology
Bamboo is a lignified gramineous plant. There are over 400 species of 40 genera of bamboo plants and bamboo forest 4.84 million ha. in China. Moso bamboo is the major bamboo species in Chins. It grows fast and matures after growing 5 year and can keep on shooting, maturing, being harvested annually in selection cutting once being successfully planted. Bamboo peeling veneer is one of main utilizing ways of bamboo culms. The production process and main procedures such as bamboo block softening, peeling, dry, long veneer manufacturing with finger joint, and gluing non-woven fabrics on the back of veneer for strengthening are described in detail in this paper. In addition, the parameters that should be taken into account in quality control are given as well.
