Optimizing Design of Plywood Bend Elastic Properties

Based on two ways: veneer compression ratio and arrangement of plies, the optimizing design model of plywood bend elastic properties was build in this paper. The design variable, object function and restrain condition was plies thickness, the maximum of linear cumulative sum of plies thickness, and the design goal of panel modulus of elasticity parallel and perpendicular to the face grain, panel thickness, number of plies. The examples illustrated that this model could optimize such structure that compressed veneer was the faces of plywood, which way would improve and optimize the elastic properties of fast- growing material plywood.
