Discussion about the Method of Visual Grading On Chinese Fire Structural Lumber
Chinese Fir (Cunninghamia lanceolata) is one of the most important plantations, which draws more and more attention from domestic wood researchers. So we chose 1571 pieces of structural lumbers from four main Chinese fir plantation areas, namely the Anhui, Hunan, Sichuan and Fujian province to do grading research. And we separate them into SS, No. 1 and No. 2 three main grades by visual method according to GB50005-2003. Finally, we gain the conclusion that knot is the main character of Chinese Fir structural lumber, and the visual quality of Fujian structural lumbers is polarized, and the visual grading method is a little different degree of tightness for Anhui, Hunan, Sichuan and Fujian plantations.
