Technology and Application Study on Steam Injection Following Waterflooding
The main mechanism of steam injection in water flooded reservoir and reservoir suitability for this technology was discussed, reservoir screening standard of steam injection in water flooded reservoir was put forward. Steam injection can be considered as one of the feasible EOR technology in reservoirs meeting with the screening standard. In this paper, the above results would be used in the conventional heavy oil reservoir of Lower Karamay formation of East District No.6 following water flooding. The reservoir engineering study was carried out, including the division of engineering region of steam flooding, the optimization of well pattern and steam flooding mode and injection-production parameters of each engineering region, the prediction and evaluation of steam flooding efficiency. This technology was successfully used in Lower Karamay formation of East District No.6, It is predicted that the final recovery factor will increase 15 percent.
