Research of Experiment and Theory on Steam Injection with Chemicals
In this paper we discuss the theory for the injection of a heat-bearing fluid into a reservoir with surfactants, which includes the energy balance equation, the heat transmission mechanisms of emulsion or other dispersion and the theory of transport and penetration of small oil drop in porous medium. According the energy balance equation the method for estimating thermal invasion rate, cumulative heated area, and heat losses for non-productive reservoir are described. The theory of transport and penetration for oil in the injection of a heat-bearing fluid into a reservoir with surfactants is also discussed. There have two academic results for drop of oil transport. Firstly, the smaller the drops, the higher the rates for drops transport. Secondary, driven pressure differences between with surfactants and without surfactants increases approximately two orders of magnitude. It is one of all reasons why steam injection with surfactant is better than steam injection.
