Key development technologies of heavy oil reservoirs with Strong Water Sensitivity in Wangzhuang oilfield
WangZhuang Oil field is a large heavy oil reservoir with original oil in place (OOIP) of approximate one hundred million tons that was discovered in recent years in China. Whether it can be developed with thermal process depends on its strong water sensitivity. In this paper we study the key development technologies such as lab water- sensitivity evaluation methods, water-sensitivity mechanism, anti-swelling mechanism, reservoir protection, reservoir transformation mode during thermal process and development scheme optimization etc. The study indicates that high clay contents and micropores developing are the main factors of the strong water sensitivity. It is helpful to reduce water-sensitivity by enhancing steam quality during thermal process and the reservoir can be developed by thermal process.
