The reservoir feature and potential evaluation of heavy oil in the northwestern margin of Junggar basin
Abundant oil and gas resources are held in store in northwest margin of China, heavy oil resources account for a large scale. Several billion tons heavy oil is discovered in Karamay oilfield, Hongshanzui oilfield, Baikouquan oilfield, Fengcheng oilfield, Xiazijie oilfied of the northwest margin of Junggar Basin and Santai oilfield of northeast margin of Junggar Basin. Large-scale ground oil sands, natural asphalt and shallow geological oil concentrations northwest heavy oil deposit is an important feature of this district, and which account for 97％ of the whole reserves. This region was developed with steam- injection from 1985, and now it has become the second biggest heavy oil production base with the production of four million tons. This thesis summed up exploitation laws of different types of heavy oil deposit and analyzed methods of improving heavy oil development effectiveness on the basis of geological feature analysis of heavy oil reserve in the northwest margin. At the same time, analyzing the potential of proved exploitation area and unexploited reserves of the region, proving the reserve outlying regions systematically and holding that there are approximately 5465x10<4>t forecast reserves in middle-seven district in Karamay oilfield, Qigu group in 569 well district, Badaowan group in Xia-23 well district, Qigu group in Hongqian-9 well district, 2- district carboniferous and 6-9 district carboniferous, which will be the main area for the next rolling exploration and development of heavy oil in the northwest edge.
