Present Situation and Research of Horizontal Wells Sand Control Completion in Liaohe Oilfield
Wellbore stability and sand production are two of the key problems that must be considered in the completion of horizontal wells in the heavy oil and super heavy oil blocks of Liaohe Oilfield. Wellbore stability and sand production during production can affect the potential of the horizontal wells substantially. Therefore effective completion methods are of vital importance to ensure the stability of borehole walls and prevent sand production from the formations and improve the recovery percent of reserves from the reservoirs. The paper presents in detail the development and present situation of sand control completion technology in horizontal wells in Liaohe Oilfield and analyzes the problems existing in terms of oil production, operation and stimulation treatments and several recommendations are proposed with regard to the development of sand control completion technology in horizontal wells in Liaohe Oilfield.
