THERMOSETTING BEHAVIOR OF PITCH RESIN FROM HEAVY RESIDUE

In prosent work, the B stage pitch resin was synthasized with a link agent (PXG) under (PTS) action from FCC slurrys aromatec anriched componet (FCCDF). As a basic matrix for carbon materials, B stage pitch resin should have good properties for thermosetting, two-kind of thermosetting procedure, 1-step and 2-step were employed IR and DSC analysis of thermosetting of B stage pitch resin shows that there are at least two teaction, ring close and dehydrogenation reaction taking place in the procass of thermosetting. The thermosetting pitch resin from 2-step thermosettingprocedure possesses bdtter thermal resistant propertintes than that of the 1- step thermosetting pitch resin. The optimum thermosettingconditions are 140℃/15h and 210℃/1h. after thermosetting under there conditions the Pyrolysis temperature of pitch resin is over 400℃, weight lose at 800℃ is lower 50wt%, it is a potential resin matrix for the composite material.
