Study on cashmere and wool distinguishing based on digital image captured by light microscope
The definition of digital image plays a vital role in distinguishing cashmere and wool fiber by method of image analyzing on a computer. We studied different types of optical microscope with image capturing system as the following way: capturing images of cashmere and wool fiber; dealing with the images through expert software; comparing the definition of original image and image dealt with the software. Then we measured 7 types cashmere and wools diameter and ratio of fiber diameter to scale height. We not only analyzed the measure error of diameter and the reason, but also testified the frequency of the ratio of fiber diameter to scale height by statistic method. Here comes to the conclusions: it is available to distinguish cashmere and wool based on digital image captured by differential interference contrast (DIC) motorized microscope; basically the error of diameter is under 5 percent; the frequency distribution of the ratio of fiber diameter/scale height belong to normal distribution.
