Study on the structural design of a new-type filament yarn for wool-like fabric
Mechanical properties and application of yams depend largely on their structures. On the basis of the analysis on the characteristics of wool fibers and fabrics, the theoretical model of a new type filament yarn for wool-like fabrics is proposed in this paper. By using the multi-differences between the monofils in the yarn, so after shrinkage in dying and finishing, fibers with different characteristics would be distributed in different places across the section of the yarn. Those distributed in the surface of the yam is fine fibers with deep and dense crimp. Fibers with high heat shrinkage distributed in the core of the yam are straight and rigid. Fabrics made from this yam have a good wool-like effect. Furthermore, shrinkages of the monofils and their quality distribution needed across the section to form this new-type yam are calculated in details.
