Fiber migration and radial distribution of compact wool/polyester(PET) blended yarn
Yarn samples are cut by chip cutter, observed by video microscope, and the pictures of fibers distribution are collected. Migration trend and radial distribution of compact wool/PET blended yarn is discussed by Hamilton migration index, and compared with the conventional ring spinning wool/PET blended yarn. The result shows that fiber migration trend of the conventional ring spinning is more obvious than that of compact spinning, and fiber radial distribution of compact wool/PET blended yarn is more random. Conventional migration rule is not entirely fit to compact spinning with the change of the spinning technology, and more attention should be paid to that in practice.
