Research on the shrink resistance finishing of wool with low temperature plasma and protease combination
The shrink resistance finishing of wool with low temperature plasma (LTP) and protease combination was studied, as well as the effect of the shrink resistance finishing on the color depth of wool with acid dyes. It was shown that the shrink resistance of wool was improved with LTP and protease combination and reached the standard of being washed in washing machine. Not only was the shrink resistance of wool improved, but also wool yarn strength increased and the damage to wool fiber could be decreased by LTP pretreatment. To the fabric dyed after the finishing, the color depth of wool increased with LTP and protease combination. The LTP process alone made the color of dyed wool deeper, but the process of LTP and protease combination made the color of dyed wool lighter.
