Complex Dynamics in Three Species Ratio Dependent Food Web Model
A three species ratio dependent food web model modified from a simple food chain model by adding omnivory is considered. Poincare section and bifurcation analysis are used to investigate the dynamical behaviors of the model. The model shows complex, as well as, chaotic dynamics. Bifurcation diagrams show period doubling route to chaos and crises. The coexistence of a chaotic and a periodic attractors is observed. It is concluded that omnivory may either stabilize the model by eliminating the chaos or destabilize the model by inducing complex dynamics.
