Study on Bottleneck Link Background Traffic based on Actual Measurement
In order to measure link background traffic, a novel measurement model is proposed based the active probe method.The model has two parts. Firstly, actual measuring link traffic model is introduced. The core of model has two parts: 1) measuring the traffic based on flow by means of the double hash algorithm; 2) probing route information by sampling method based on packet content. The simulation result shows our model error is controllable. Secondly, monitoring bottleneck link traffic model is proposed. The core of model has two parts: 1) acquiring the interval of packet pairs by means of injecting probe packet pairs into the network based on the Internet Protocol Measurement protocol (IPMP); 2) educing the regression model and test the model correctness. In order to compute traffic, traffic formula is acquired by the least square method. Validity of regress analysis method is proved and then regress formula is acquired. The computing results show the competing traffic error within about 30% by regress formula.
