Modeling and analysis of waste stream ranking disposal for green manufacturing
The pursuit of green manufacturing emphasize largely extracting the useful product from raw materials, the avoiding of waste generation at the source, or using waste to create other products. Based on the closed-cycle theory of green manufacturing, the definition and classification of waste stream in manufacturing system are explored from two different viewpoint. The generation mechanism and analysis principle of waste stream are elucidated, and a generic function model of waste stream for green manufacturing is established, which may especially be suitable for the ranking disposal of waste stream. The application of the model is illustrated through a case study. The research demonstrates that modeling and analysis of waste stream can simultaneously reduce disposal cost as well as generating additional value through the transformation of waste.
