Research on Spatial Morphology of Urban Land Expansion Based on Space Syntax
Urban expansion is an ardently discussed theme for academic researcher and policy maker. The urban development is an intricate temporal and spatial process with the basic characteristics of complex system, such as uncertainty and chaos. Lots of research in this field largely focus on the macro view and lack sufficient quantitative analysis of inner mechanism. Space syntax model is a novel computer language to describe modern city model, and a theory and tool used for spatial morphological analysis. This paper analyzes urban expansion and internal movement based on macro and micro views. Firstly, dynamic map superposition analysis under large time scale is applied to real case to investigate the temporal and spatial evolution. Furthermore, quantitative computation based on space syntax is adopted to analyze the spatial morphology of urban expansion of Baoding and the impact spatial pattern of transportation network have on urban expansion pattern.
