Effects of Imperfect Channel State Information on The Performance of Adaptive MIMO-OFDM Systems
Adaptive multiple input multiple output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems have a great potential to increase the performance when the channel state information (CSI) is accurately known at transmitter (TX) side. However, the perfect CSI is a too strong assumption for a wireless system operating. This paper presents a low complexity adaptive MIMO OFDM systems which takes into account estimated CSI errors and channel correlation at TX side. By analyzing the equivalent signal noise rate (SNR) and spatial multiplexing(SM) patterns, we evaluate the effects of estimated CSI errors and channel correlation at TX side on the performance of adaptive MIMO-OFDM systems. The simulation results clearly show the performance comparison of adaptive MIMO-OFDM systems between perfect CSI and imperfect CSI.
