Compensation of Phase Jitter in Frequency Hopped OFDM Systems
The phase jitter of Frequency hopped OFDM systems (FHOFDM) is very different from that of OFDM systems working on a constant radio frequency (RF). In this paper the SNR loss is analyzed for the system ruined by the phase jitter. Based on the analysis on the frequency domain specification of phase jitter signal, a phase jitter compensation (PJC) algorithm is presented based on the design principle of inverse filter for FH-OFDM. Least square (LS) approach is used to exploit the phase jitter information existing in the scattered pilots. Analysis and simulation results show that choosing an appropriate length for the filter the algorithm can improve the BER performance effectively with low complexity, which will not reduce the system bandwidth availability.
