Full Diversity Concatenation Space-Time Coding Over Time-Selective Block Rayleigh Fading Channels via Duality

A coding scheme for concatenation space-time codes to achieve the maximum diversity over the time-selective block Rayleigh fading channels via the time-frequency duality is proposed in this paper. Based on the Basis Expansion Model (BEM) for the time-selective fading channels, we firstly inversely convert it into the corresponding virtual frequency-selective fading circulant matrix by pre- and post-multiplying IFFT and FFT matrix in the transmit and receive end respectively. And then with OFDM module, general space-time codes can be directly applied in it. Based on the pairwise error probability (PEP) analysis in case of rapid fading, we derive design and performance criteria for the concatenation space-time block coding. Extending the full diversity space-frequency coding approach proposed previously to our consideration, we construct the space-time-Doppler block codes from the general space-time codes through repetition, which achieve the maximum additional Doppler diversity besides space and time diversity. Simulation results demonstrate the excellent performance of the proposed technique.
