Comparison of Super-Resolution Algorithms for TOA Estimation in Indoor IEEE 802.11 Wireless LANs
In this paper, we compare the second and fourth order super-resolution time-of-arrival (TOA) estimation of frequency domain in an IEEE 802.11b network for location positioning. The performance of the super-resolution TOA estimation methods are valued by two parameters: mean distance error and standard deviation of the distance estimation error. Five hundred timed Monte Carlo simulations have been done in Matlab, and simulation results indicate that more accurate TOA estimation results can be achieved by the use of ESPRIT algorithms in superresolution TOA method algorithm under the affecting of SNR.
