Semi-endless Rolling Technology of Thin Slab Casting and Rolling

Thin slab casting and rolling (TSCR) production has made much progress in China.Semi-endless rolling technology is adopted many steel plants. As a result, production quality,productivity, and stability of rolling have been improved. So the advantage of semi-endless rolling and four kind strategies of semi-endless rolling were described in this paper. Main equipment of thin slab casting and rolling line and key technology, including FGC (Fly Gauge Change) technology,automatic minimum tension control and looper control technology, and major equipment and function of semiendless coiling operation and so on, were analyzed in detail. Semi-endless rolling technology will be paid more attention in order to improve the competitiveness of TSCR in future.
