Effect of annealing and quenching process in γ +α region on structures and properties of steels with different initial structures
Using the steels with 0.08C-1.2Mn-0.15Si, present work researched the effect of different initial structures on microstructures and properties of steels, applying annealing and quenching process in γ +α region. With the same annealing and quenching process, the less the grain size is, the more the volume fraction of martensite is. With the same initial structure, the volume fraction of martensite increases following increasing holding time. The tensile strength of tested steels reach 600MPa by annealing and quenching process, and the initial work hardening exponent varies in the range of 0.17 ~0.22. The Rel/Rm is between 0.50 and 0.60. The elongation percentage is more than 20%.
