Synthesis and Anti-bacterial Property of Cu/ZnO Nanoparticles
The photocatalysis property of ZnO was applied to prepare antibiotic Cu/ZnO nanoparticles by photo- reducing Cu ion in aqueous, where Cu finally deposited on the surface of ZnO nanowhiskers. The as- prepared samples were characterized by XRD and TEM. The Cu phase in the samples exists in form of Cu<,2>O or pure Cu which was determined by experiment parameters such as reaction time, pH value and stirring rates. Deposit amount of Cu phase reached maximum under the experiment parameters of pH value 7, stirring rate 2000r. p. m. and reacting 3 hours. The experiments of antibiotic ring method revealed that the as-prepared Cu/ZnO nanoparticles can kill Staphylococci efficiently. The samples in which Cu phase exists as Cu<,2>O showed a better antibiotic effect.
