Extraction of β-Methylnaphthalene from the Industry Methylnaphthalene by Azeotropic Distillation
This article introduces a new way of withdrawing β- methylnaphthalene priorly from the industry methylnaphthalene by azeotropic distillation with a suitable azeotropic named azeotropic agent-diethylene glycol. It studies different dosages of azeotropic agent and reflux ratios which contribute to the yield and purity of β-methylnaphthalene. The purity of β-methylnaphthalene of the final product acquired by this method reaches 90.23% and the yield 75.87%. The mass fraction of quinoline is extremely as small as 0.30%.
