Application of CORBA Naming Service in TMN
As the supporting system of the telecom network, the telecom network management system is a typical, distributed heterogeneous system. Since the network scale is becoming sweeping and together with the increasing businesses of the telecom, the telecom network management system plays a more and more important role in telecom operation. The traditional structure of the telecom network management is a single Element Management System (EMS) managed by a single Network Management System (NMS), which has the problem of bringing the system on more complex and wasting of resources. To establish the TMN based on CORBA is the tendency of the new generation telecom network management system and the point is how to apply common CORBA service in TMN. Using of the naming service of CORBA, our system could register all the objects and then name an object that could be found by the object reference. Furthermore, the more reasonable layered structure is designed to represent and manage the multi-EMS streakiness. In this paper, following the discussion on CORBA-based TMN architecture, we analyze how to apply CORBA naming service in TMN and how to implement the management function to manage the multi-EMS with one NMS in detail, and then introduce how to establish and realize a management model of one to many base on the analyze above. Finally, we give the advantages of CORBA naming services in TMN system.
