THE USERS AESTHETIC PREFERENCE OF COGNITIVE STYLE IN MOBILE INTERACTION

The users aesthetic preference of cognitive style (APCS) plays an important role in human-computer interaction. It decides the interaction attitude and usage experience of the whole interaction. This article, by introducing the methods of Kansei Engineer and Cognitive Psychology, makes an experiment to explore the APCS of mobile devices interface. Experimental results show that it is an integration of the five main factors, Visual Effect Factor (VEF), Emotion Factor (EF), Imagination Factor (IGF), Innovation Factor (IF), and Historical Factor (HF). These factors are affected by icons, interface layout, feedback mode and information representation. Design representation and feedback mode influence VEF mainly; feedback mode affects EF only; IGF is related to layout and feedback mode mainly; IF is affected by icons, layout and feedback mode equally; and layout and feedback mode affect HF conjointly.
