The concepts of green and sustainable building are very popular around the globe, but there is no general agreement on definitions, and there is considerable variety in the methods used to measure green or sustainable performance. A broad-brush review of the status of sustainable building in various regions also shows considerable variation in regulations, policies, programs and tools used.
